The Eyabantwana – For the Children Trust is an independent non-profit Trust established to support the work of the Eastern Cape Paediatric Surgical Services based at the East London Hospitals.
The Eastern Cape Paediatric Surgical Service was founded in 1995 and serves a population of approximately 5 million people with children being referred from virtually all regions of the Eastern Cape. As a result our centre has now become one of the four largest children’s surgical centres in Southern Africa.
The Paediatric Surgical Service operates at Frere Hospital in East London and at Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in Mdantsane and provides surgical care for newborns and infants with complex congenital problems; children with cancer; children with burns and others who have been injured; and many other surgical conditions in older children. Of necessity, many of our patients, including newborn babies, have to travel over vast distances to reach our hospitals.
Through regular fundraisers and sponsorships, we intend to change how restricted our capacity is to upgrade our facilities and acquire essential equipment
Serving one of South Africa’s poorest provinces is a major challenge and budgetary constraints have until now restricted our capacity to upgrade our facilities and acquire essential equipment. The Eyabantwana, For the Children Trust was established for this reason in 2013.
The Eyabantwana Trust is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (Reg 101-741 NPO) and a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO). The Eyabantwana Trust may issue an 18a tax exemption certificate to the value of the donation received. This document (certificate) will serve as receipt and will entitle the donor to claim a deduction on the relevant tax return by submitting the tax certificate together with associated documentation to SARS before the annual tax submission deadline.
{Section 18(A) certificates will be issued upon request | BBBEE Certification number D21/22009/01/Rev1}
