Eyabantwana… For the Children Trust
The Eyabantwana – For The Children Trust is an independent Trust, established to support the work of the Eastern Cape Paediatric Surgical Service based at the East London Hospitals; Cecilia Makiwane and Frere Hospital.
Eastern Cape Paediatric Surgical Services was founded in 1995 as the referral center for the Eastern Cape.
Our center has become one of the four largest centers in Southern Africa – providing surgical care to a population of about 5 million people with Children being referred from virtually all regions of the Eastern Cape, specifically:
New Borns & Infants with complex congenital problems
Children with Cancer
Children with Burns
Children with Severe Injuries
Older Children with Surgical Conditions
EYABANTWANA TRUST HANDOVER 2019
Equipment purchased from the funds raised in 2019 were handed over to the nursing staff of both the Frere Hospital and Cecilia Makiwane Hospital.

Grandads Army
The Grandads Army, a group of social cyclists; was originally founded by doctors serving the Eyabantwana Trust, and has since grown into a group of over 100 cyclists who gather to raise much needed awareness for the organisation.
The Grandads Army manage to raise over R500 000 each year for the trust, which contributes towards the maintenance and equipment purchases the trust requires to keep up with their level of service.

The Eyabantwana Trust is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (Reg 101-741 NPO) and a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO). The Eyabantwana Trust may issue an 18a tax exemption certificate to the value of the donation received. This document (certificate) will serve as receipt and will entitle the donor to claim a deduction on the relevant tax return by submitting the tax certificate together with associated documentation to SARS before the annual tax submission deadline.

R72 Cycle Tour
This year, the R72 Cycle Tour took place to raise funds and awareness for the Eyabantwana Trust, and promote road safety along the R72. The event raised R200 000 for the Eyabantwana Trust and will take place annually in November.
Grandads Army Memorial Ride 2020
Over the past five years, the Grandads Army have managed to raise over R2 million for the Eyabantwana Trust through the organisation of the Grandads Army Memorial Ride. The group raised over R350 000 for the Eyabantwana Trust in 2020.
Cause for a Ball
Each year, the Eyabantwana Trust hosts a black-tie event, featuring extravagant entertainment, wines, a delicious three course dinner. In 2019, Marc Lottering hosted “Christmas in July with Marc Lottering” function, and raised over R100 000 for the Eyabantwana Trust.
Mother’s Day Picnic
For the past five years, together with the Grandads Army; we have hosted the annual Mother’s Day Picnic at 2 Swans Function & Wedding Venue. This is a fully catered picnic, with theme synced picnic items paired with wine or juice. The event has proven to be an entertaining fair for the entire family!
