The Eyabantwana – For The Children Trust is an independent Trust, established to support the work of the Eastern Cape Paediatric Surgical Service based at the East London Hospitals; Cecilia Makiwane and Frere Hospital.

Eastern Cape Paediatric Surgical Services was founded in 1995 as the referral center for the Eastern Cape.

Our center has become one of the four largest centers in Southern Africa – providing surgical care to a population of about 5 million people with Children being referred from virtually all regions of the Eastern Cape, specifically:

New Borns & Infants with complex congenital problems

Children with Cancer

Children with Burns

Children with Severe Injuries

Older Children with Surgical Conditions

Equipment purchased from the funds raised in 2019 were handed over to the nursing staff of both the Frere Hospital and Cecilia Makiwane Hospital.

Through regular fundraisers and sponsorships, we intend to change how restricted our capacity is to upgrade our facilities and acquire essential equipment
